Reader’s Question:
I heard that it’s possible to get life insurance without having to go through a medical exam. If that’s possible then I’m very much interested in getting it through that way. Can you tell me how can I get one? Thanks!
Ivy
Austin, TX
That’s correct Ivy. Buying life insurance without you having to go through a medical exam is possible. Usually this means that you will not be required to give your blood and urine sample. You only have to answer some health questions provided by the life insurance company and then you can get your own no exam life insurance coverage. So how are you gonna get one? Here’s how:
- I would suggest that you use the Internet as your method of finding no exam life insurance since it’s so easy to use. All you need to first do is to run a search for no exam life insurance. Then just click on the links so you can visit the websites that offer it.
- Make sure to read everything carefully including the insurance policy and terms and conditions.
- Let’s say you’ve already chosen the insurance company where you’re gonna buy your insurance coverage, check on your potential insurer’s rating’s first. There are websites that can offer you that information.
- Fill out the questionnaire you saw on the websites accurately. Remember, you will be asked questions regarding your habits like if you smoke or drink. Also, expect you will be asked to give out personal information too. Then once you’ve filled out everything and submitted the form you will then receive life insurance quote.
- It’s time to fill out the application form. Once you’ve submitted that the insurance company will then decide about your application. If they’ve accepted your application you will be receiving this time a detailed insurance quote that includes details about the insurance coverage and clauses.
- If you have some questions about your application then ask. If you think it would help you more if you consult an agent then do so.
- Make sure you understand everything before accepting the agreement.
That’ how easy you can get no exam life insurance. You can try getting it now by just checking the websites. If I am not mistaken, you can even get it through this website. Good luck!

Readers Question:
Can I get life insurance coverage without having to go through a medical exam here in Massachusetts?
Roma
Cambridge, MA
Good question. Yes! These days there are many life insurance providers that allow you to buy No-Exam life insurance coverage. This trend is actually quite recent, created by the need of insurers to stay in business in an increasingly competitive market. To people who would have otherwise been refused life coverage had they needed to go through a medical or physical test (and subsequently fails said tests due to health or other reasons), a No-Exam life insurance policy maybe their only option to get a life insurance provider.
There are a few things you should keep in mind before you buy No-Exam life insurance coverage there in Massachusetts (or anywhere actually):
1. A No-Exam life insurance policy is usually more expensive. Without the medical/physical examination, the insurers are unable to determine your risk of dying within the coverage period accurately. So by default you are placed under the high-risk policyholders’ category. Higher risk equals higher rates.
2. Shopping for affordable No-Exam life insurance plans can be easily done on the Web. With the many available life insurance portals and websites – like this website you’re on right now – which offers free life insurance rate quote checks. Here you can easily compare which insurers cost the least to get coverage from.
3. If you are on a budget, reconsider getting a life insurance plan that requires you to take the medical or physical test, especially if you are relatively young and healthy. Why pay a few hundred dollars more a year if there really isn’t any reason for you to skip those tests?
Remember, a No-Exam life insurance policy is really something that should be left as a last resort, if you have been rejected coverage by many different insurers. The reason people pay more for this kind of coverage is because they really don’t have much choice. So think very carefully about it.

Reader question:
Can I compare rates for no exam life insurance coverage online as a smoker?
Rick
Thanks for asking, Rick.
As a smoker, if you compare rates for no exam life insurance coverage online, then you might get a preferable rate to what you would have been getting with an offline life insurance company which required an exam. If you smoke daily, then an exam would have picked up the nicotine in your urine anyhow, and so you probably would have gotten a substandard rating on your policy, which could mean hundreds of dollars out of your pocket. Even after you quit smoking, it takes five years with a standard company to get back to the point where you can get the best kind of ratings, which is the preferred policy.
Now, does that mean that if you compare rates for no exam life insurance coverage online, you’ll automatically get the best rates? Of course not. You should get a physical for another company anyway, so that you have that as a basis for comparison. After that, check out the online no exam rates. They’ll also be high, but you’re hoping they won’t be AS high.
take care,
Fashun

Reader’s Question:
What kind of life insurance policy here in Georgia should I buy if I am a heavy smoker? And would I also be considered a smoker by chewing tobacco?
Sinead
Atlanta, GA
One of the things that you should remember as a smoker is that regardless of what kind of life insurance policy you choose, you will inevitably have to face premiums that are generally, around three to four times higher as compared to what non-smokers would pay for the same kind of life insurance coverage.
If you’re not aware as to why, smoking (and using any nicotine-based products such as Cigars, Pipes, Nicotine Gum, Chew, Snuff, Cigarettes, Dip, and Nicotine Patches regularly or otherwise, would qualify you as a smoker) would significantly magnify your risk of shortening your lifespan via long-term respiratory illnesses, a few forms of cancer and an overall deterioration of your health and longevity. And this wreaks havoc on your life insurance premiums, and it will only get worse as you grow older and continue with your smoking habit.
The type of life insurance policy that you should get there in Georgia should still address your financial goals, and the future financial needs of whoever your beneficiaries are. You would need to put some extra effort in looking for more affordable life insurance rates. One of the best ways to do this would be to run a free life insurance quote using the web site) or any other life insurance portals available on the Internet. Companies have different ways of computing your premiums and you may still find a carrier that would have relatively lower premiums to offer a smoker.

Reader’s Question:
How does life insurance companies compute life insurance rates? I was talking to some life insurance agents here in South Carolina and all of them quoted higher rates for me. A friend told me its because I’m a smoker, is this true?
Desmond
Columbia, SC
There are a lot of factors used to determine your life insurance rates . Age, gender, weight, any health conditions you may have, your family’s medical history, your job, your lifestyle or activities you participate in, whether you take drugs, recreational or otherwise and yes, even being a smoker would definitely be considered when determining your life insurance rates. Once you submit an application with a life insurance provider there in South Carolina, they would use these information to evaluate your risk profile. The higher your risk of dying sooner, the more the provider would compensate for this risk by charging higher.
Smoking can actually cause your life insurance rates to be three to four times more expensive. Obviously, this is due to the serious, long-term implications that smoking brings to one’s health and lifespan.
If you are not happy with hat you are being quoted for life insurance, another option would be to go with a No-Exam life insurance policy that would not require to you to undergo any physical and medical exams. Although premiums for this kind of policy is not really cheap either, it may prove to be lower than what you will have to pay normally for being a smoker. Still, these are all guides and the best way to get affordable life insurance is to shop around. The Internet is full of life insurance portals that allows you to get quick, easy quotes and be able to compare companies for the best rates.
